Normally, to apply for work permit in China, the applicants must have at least two years of related working experience on the basis of his bachelor’s degree or above. But there are some preferential policies for fresh graduates, especially in Shanghai and Beijing.
Policies in Shanghai
1. Graduates who graduated from any of Shanghai Universities with bachelor’s degrees are allowed to apply the China Work Permit directly without 2 years’ working experience if their employers are registered in the following areas:
1) Five new districts (Jiading, Qingpu, Songjiang, Fengxian, Nanhui);
2) Free Trade Zone (FTZ) area;
3) Zhang Jiang High Tech (ZJHT) area;
4) Lingang region;
5) Hongqiao Business District;
6) Organization included in Shanghai sci-tech innovation occupation list.
2. Graduates who graduated from any China Universities or from High-Level universities in the world with master’s degrees can apply for the China Work Permit directly in all areas of the Shanghai company without two years of working experience. But it is worth noting that your average score should be more than 80 or above B/B+.
Policies in Beijing
Some of the graduates are able to apply to pre-application for outstanding foreign youth through their employers. Graduates and employers should meet the following requirements:
1. Requirements for graduates
1) At least 18 years old and under 35 years old.
2) In good health and have no criminal record.
3) Foreign graduates from well-known universities at home and abroad or those who have obtained the certificate of senior technician for less than 2 years (can be relaxed appropriately) or those who have completed 3 years of higher education and meet the requirements of management trainee (qualified for management trainee refers to, qualified employers will select foreign youth with special innovation qualifications and undergraduates from world famous universities to carry out leapfrog talent training).
4) Have excellent academic performance and competent for the job, in principle, the major matches the employment position (HSK level 4 or above can get up to 5 points), and no bad behavior record during school.
2. Requirements for employers
1) The applicant employer shall be in line with the high-end industrial development orientation of the capital, “three cities and one District”, and comprehensive pilot enterprises and institutions for expanding and opening up the city’s service industry.
2) Established according to law, with no violation or bad record and with good credit.
3) The number of Chinese youth recruited in the same year should not be less than the number of outstanding foreign youth.
4) Implement total volume control throughout the city.
